Inter-Occupational Dance Party

Inter-Occupational Dance Party

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Unite Detroit Collective
5900 Michigan Avenue
Detroit, Michigan

“To the comrade who reproached her for spirited dancing at a party after a political meeting, Goldman responded: ‘I want freedom, the right to self-expression, everybody’s right to beautiful radiant things.’ For Goldman the right to beauty was as important as the right to freedom itself. Just as physical passion was a force of self-expression, so too was aesthetic passion. ‘I cannot imagine a free society without beauty,’ she wrote in exile to a friend, ‘for of what use liberty, if not to strive for beauty?’ – Miriam Brody, intro, Living My Life by Emma Goldman

This is a dance party looking to get the various occupations together to have a night of fun and foster a sense of community amongst the various occupations. To help us remember that social change is aesthetic, beautiful, and fun. It will be donation based only.
